Terms and Conditions

Your contract is with Brian Morrison. Scottish Law will apply

Prices, Booking and Payment

The price for instruction is £240 per day. A  25% deposit will be required for all bookings with full payment made 4 weeks prior to commencement of instruction.

 

Travel expenses will not normally be charged if the instruction takes place on the West coast of Scotland. Travel expenses may be charged if the instruction starts and finishes in different places. For locations outwith this area please enquire about travel expenses at the time of booking.

 

You will normally be expected to provide me with food while on board. For bookings of two or more consecutive days you will normally be expected to provide me with accommodation on board. Please contact me if these arrangements are not suitable.

Cancellation

If you cancel the booking

  • If you need to cancel your booking, you should contact me immediately by email or telephone to advise.

  • If alternative mutually agreeable dates can be found, any payment made will then be used as payment for the new dates.

  • If your booking is more than 6 weeks away you have 14 days to cancel a course from the date you made the booking, and in such case your deposit will be repaid to you in full (less any bank account/transaction charges).

  • If your booking is more than 4 weeks away you will not be required to pay the remaining balance but your deposit will not be returned.

  • If your booking is less than 4 weeks away you will be liable for the full cost.

 

If I cancel the booking for any reason I will aim to offer a suitable alternative date. If this cannot be arranged a full refund of any payment will be made. I will not be liable for any other costs that you may have incurred.

 

If cancellation is forced on either party by regulations imposed by the UK or Scottish Governments, for example, the imposition of travel restrictions, quarantine or social distancing requirements related to the Covid 19 pandemic, the cost will be shared equally by both parties i.e. 50% of any sums paid will be refunded.

Insurance

You are required to provide insurance for your vessel. Please ensure that this insurance covers instruction taking place on board.

You are advised to take out appropriate cancellation, curtailment and accident insurance.

 

I will have insurance in place to cover myself for Public Liability while instructing.

Age Limits

Children are welcome but children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.

 

There is no upper age limit but you should consider yourself physically fit for the activity involved.

Safety Policy

All instruction is planned and supervised in a way designed to manage the risk of accident to both clients and instructor, while at the same time providing realistic, practical and beneficial training.

Sailing, by its nature, contain a degree of hazard and risk and despite the greatest care accidents may still occur.

All clients should be aware that involvement places them at risk of accident and potential injury, possibly serious or even fatal. Under normal circumstances, unless otherwise informed, it is assumed that clients are aware of and accept the inherent risk associated with the activity.

The instructors is responsible for the safety of their clients during periods of training.  In order to manage the risk, all clients are requested to draw to the attention of the instructor if they are unhappy or feel the activity is beyond their ability.  No client, irrespective of circumstance, is required to undertake any aspect of the training.

In order to facilitate safe practice please note that in all circumstances the instructions provided by instructor should be followed.

All clients are required to declare if they have a medical condition or if they are using any medication.

All clients should be physically fit for the course they have chosen.
